The American-Made Solar Prize (Solar Prize) is a multi-million-dollar prize competition designed to energize U.S. solar manufacturing through a series of contests and the development of a diverse and powerful support network that leverages national laboratories, energy incubators, and other resources across the country. The competition enables the rapid development of innovative solar solutions by providing resources and support to entrepreneurs as they transform concepts into early-stage prototypes ready for industry testing. By tapping into the nation’s unparalleled innovation ecosystem and America’s competitive spirit, this competition helps to reenergize American energy innovation and supports the growth of U.S. manufacturing.
The program was announced on January 24, 2018 and is administered by the Energy Department’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

The EMerge Alliance is a nonprofit, open network of more than 100 organizations reinventing electric power through the development of forward-thinking standards for the highly efficient use of hybrid AC/DC power in a variety of buildings. These standards focus on delivering DC power directly to digital electronics and power storage systems, simplifying the use of locally produced clean energy and making systems more flexible, resilient and sustainable.

Founded in 1999 as the California Fuel Cell Partnership, the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership is an industry/government collaboration aimed at expanding the market for fuel cell electric vehicles powered by hydrogen to help create a cleaner, more energy-diverse future with no-compromise zero emission vehicles. Staff from member organizations participate on standing committees and project teams that help ensure that vehicles, stations, regulations and people are in step with each other as the market grows. HFCP’s success is directly linked to the commitment and involvement of member organizations.
The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners® (NABCEP®) is the most respected, well-established and widely recognized certification organization for professionals in the field of renewable energy.
Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) is a national nonprofit with a growing presence working across the renewable energy economy with over 30 chapters and a broad purpose-to change our energy future through the actions of women.
AEPIBAL is a business association which defends Electrochemical Storage Industry’s interests. With over 120 associates covering the entire value chain, AEPIBAL has become the leading representative in the sector before the public administration along with other actors in the electricity market, such as REE and OMIE. The focus of its activities is the implementation of the storage market, as well as consolidation of a solid and sustainable local industrial network. In addition, AEPIBAL promotes business opportunities among its members, while providing financing for their projects.
The Catalan Energy Cluster is a non-profit organization made up of more than 200 companies from the energy sector, which range from public institutions and private enterprises to research centers. The aims and objectives of CEEC consist of increasing its partners’ competitiveness by promoting business development within the sector through collaborative innovation, providing services regarding professional training in partnership with universities and educational institutions, and arranging networking initiatives and public events for their partners to increase their market intelligence and visibility.

TenneSEIA (Tennessee Solar Energy Industries Association) is the state affiliate for the national Solar Energy Industries Association, and represents the interest of the solar energy industry in the Tennessee Valley. The mission of TenneSEIA is to is to promote the development of solar energy and complementary technologies, including storage, positioning the Tennessee Valley’s residents and businesses as leaders in clean energy deployment and economic development.
Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) promotes renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living through education and demonstration. Together with partners around the Midwest, we work to expand renewable energy adoption through innovative programs, renewable energy training, and educational events.
Renew Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a stronger, healthier, more vibrant Wisconsin through the advancement of renewable energy. We work on policies and programs that support solar power, wind power, biogas, local hydropower, geothermal energy, and electric vehicles.

The Florida Solar Energy Center® (FSEC®), is the state’s premier energy research institution. GRID Alternatives envisions a rapid, equitable transition to a world powered by renewable energy that benefits everyone. Our mission is to build community-powered solutions to advance economic and environmental justice through renewable energy.
The Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) is a nonprofit trade association with over 50 educational campuses and affiliate local chapters across the country. IEC is the premier workforce development and apprenticeship organization for the independent contractor. IEC represents more than 3,600 businesses that employ over 100,000 individuals throughout the United States. The association educates nearly 16,000 electricians each year through world-class training programs, and thousands more through Continuing Education programs. IEC contractor member companies are some of the premier firms in the industry and are responsible for over $10B in gross revenue annually.
The Atlanta & Georgia Chapters of IEC have over 250 electrical contractors and 100 supplier members throughout Georgia and the surrounding states. With 6 campus locations throughout the state, we provide exceptional electrical apprenticeship training to over 700 apprentices. The US DOL Certified apprenticeship program is offered both onsite and online for the standard 4-year program and our advanced 2-year Professional Electricians Program. In addition to the apprenticeship program, we offer a wide array of continuing education and safety classes both onsite and online to over 1,000 individuals annually. With two full-time workforce recruiters and a robust social media presence, we are very actively recruiting new workers to find an electrical career with our member contractors.
CHESSA members are involved in every facet of the solar industry. Our members design, sell, integrate, install, maintain, and finance solar energy equipment for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional customers throughout the region. Among our ranks are the accountants, attorneys, builders, architects, electricians, plumbers, developers and consultants who together form the foundation of solar. CHESSA represents sole proprietors and publicly traded companies alike, and drives value to the residential, commercial, industrial, community and utility scale sectors.
The Georgia Solar Energy Industries Association (GASEIA) is a statewide, non-profit trade organization representing the interests of the 146+ solar companies located throughout the state. Our organization serves as the voice for Georgia’s solar industry, working to remove market barriers, engage in solar outreach and education, and expand solar markets. We seek to encourage the widespread use of solar energy and maintain Georgia’s position as a top state in the solar industry.
GASEIA proudly serves the 2,600 Georgians working in the solar industry and supports a statewide industry that generates approximately $180 million dollars in investments each year. GASEIA’s diverse membership ranges from educational organizations to solar developers, engineers, distributors, and financiers. Our members conduct business in-state, nationally, and abroad, with individually-owned groups and large solar organizations represented. We are the state affiliate for the national solar trade organization, SEIA.
