Workshops are offered Tuesday, February 21. Please note that these sessions require an additional ticket, which may be purchased as an add-on to your registration or as a stand-alone registration.

As of 1/1/2023 the 2023 NEC is now the law of the land in Massachusetts first. In this workshop we will cover Article 690 PV Systems, where you can now officially use the term "string". We will check out some of the new labeling requirements and dive into rapid shutdown, including the UL 3741 PV Hazard Control System (PVHCS) listing. In Article 705 Interconnections we now incorporate with Article 750 Energy Management Systems for controlling sources (and loads) as an alternative to 705.12 Load-Side Connections.

Article 706 Energy Storage Systems is becoming more important than ever with the increased supply of intermittent renewables on the grid. With fossil fuels becoming even more of a national security issue, we are going to see Article 706 take up even more of our bandwidth.

Article 625 EV Power Transfer System is predicted to have an exciting future, especially with the first big announcement from Ford and Duke about grid support with EVs. The GWhs (soon to be TWhs) hidden in EVs are the greatest source of energy storage for grid support, will soon be all-important, and go viral!
