Speaker Resources

Thank you for your interest in participating in the educational offerings at RE+ Events. Our events portfolio reaches audiences throughout the United States and internationally. We host a number of programs regionally, nationally, and internationally – including RE+, the largest clean energy event in North America.

RE+ Events consistently maintains an outstanding reputation by developing exceptional educational content that is timely, forward thinking, and relevant. Our ongoing success relies on engaging highly qualified professionals with expertise in the region.

I’m interested in speaking at RE+ Events…

Complete our Speaker Interest Form! Your information will be shared with our planning committees for consideration, and you will be notified only if the committee would like to extend an invitation to speak.

RE+ Events collaborates with SEIA, SEPA, and small regional committees for each event that help us direct our education content creation. Speaker applications are reviewed when programming is being drafted. You will ONLY be notified if the committee would like to extend an invitation to speak.

We prioritize diverse voices and often opt to elevate those voices when faced with multiple speaker options. We strongly encourage submissions from women, people of color, and underrepresented groups in the renewable energy industry.

You will be notified only if the committee would like to extend an invitation to speak.

The success of RE+ Events is heavily driven by the two non-profit membership organizations behind it. The partnership between the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), through their joint ownership of RE+ Events, has resulted in the creation of a robust suite of business and education opportunities for the solar industry.

RE+ Events organizers and speakers will strive to create a welcoming, collaborative environment for all attendees and stakeholders. At times, contentious issues are discussed at RE+ Events. These debates make the industry stronger and facilitate the healthy exchange of ideas in a collegial setting. All RE+ Events speakers will strive to present balanced perspectives on all issues in a professional, constructive manner.

I’ve been invited to speak at RE+ Events…

Yes. Speakers can login to the speaker portal they received access instructions to after they confirmed their speaking role and upload a headshot and bio. If you are unable to locate this communication, please contact [email protected]. Please do not email us your headshot and bio.

This is normal after receiving your Speaking Logistics & Next Steps email detailing information after you confirm your speaking role. You may not hear again from our team until about a month out from the event when we begin the process of scheduling a planning call and send event preparation emails. However, you’re welcome to reach out to [email protected] if you’re concerned you’re not receiving communication.

Registration, Travel, & Housing

Due to the number of speakers we invite, it is not possible for us to assist with hotel and travel costs. Please email [email protected] if this impacts your ability to participate in the event.

We are pleased to offer speakers a significant discount for a Full Conference pass at all regional shows and RE+. The discounted amount covers hard costs for the event, including food & beverage and other operating costs.

Session Content

We have compiled speaker resources detailing our audience engagement tool, run of show templates, best practices for presentations and more!  View and download these tools here.

QuickTalks are shorter 20-30 minute presentation-style sessions that generally consist of 1-2 speakersYour invitation email should detail if you are a solo presenter or if there is anyone else slated for your same session. RE+ Events will schedule a planning call if you are presenting with another individual not from your same organization.

TechTalks are a part of our RE+ Tech content, which is a platform for the technical and scientific communities to present groundbreaking research in the solar, storage, and smart energy industries. TechTalks spotlight emerging technologies across clean energy sectors and balance technical presentations with practical innovation.

At some events, we offer RE+ Tech sessions or tracks that are focused on academic or technical content and to that same audience.

These sessions are conducted within our Expo Hall and are open to all attendees

This is a great topic to bring up during your session planning call, or you can email [email protected] with that feedback. Titles and session descriptions are a collaboration between the education & content teams at RE+ Events, SEIA and SEPA, therefore changes are not guaranteed and any changes will not be immediate.

Session details are included in your initial invitation email. If you are unable to locate that email, please contact [email protected] .

Media

If a member of your media team is only attending your session and not any other part of the event, please reach out to [email protected] for assistance. Colleagues of speakers will need a Full Conference badge in order to access your education session.

RE+ Events has no policy against photos or videos of sessions taken by attendees. Members of the press are asked to register with RE+. We ask all speakers to sign our speaker agreement in the RE+ speaker portal for video/photo permission. If your organization would like to record the entire session, we ask you to reach out to [email protected]

Depending on the event, sessions may be recorded by either RE+, or our partners at SEIA and SEPA. Content may either be shared with attendees post-event or for SEIA/SEPA members-only educational purposes.

Session Logistics

Slides are not required, and we only encourage slides if a visual is needed to aid the discussion. For panel sessions, panelists will decide if they would like to submit slides during their planning call.

If a panel decides to submit slides, the Moderator should compile these slides and submit via the speaker portal task prior to the due date for the event.

For QuickTalk or Show Floor speakers, these speakers should submit via the speaker portal task prior to the due date for the event.

It’s always a good idea to bring your slides on a USB drive as a back-up.

To make updates to slides after the deadline, bring updated slides pre-loaded onto a USB drive to the AV table at least 15 minutes prior to your session.

Slides can be shared with attendees, if loaded into the speaker portal. These feed automatically to the conference app. Slides are NOT downloadable by attendees, and can only be viewed in a web browser.

Yes, RE+ Events provides a way for audience members to submit questions digitally from their devices via a QR code displayed on the screen. This is standard for all sessions, across all shows. This allows for more accessibility and inclusivity of audience member engagement and is a time saver for most sessions.

You can find out more about this tool here.

Reach out to [email protected] as soon as possible to confirm the details of your session.

RE+ Events reaches audiences throughout the United States and internationally; even for our regional shows we still see individuals travel to attend. Attendees vary across the clean energy industry from developers, financiers, academics, executives, policy workers, regulators, utilities, and more. Additionally, our events cover a wide spectrum of technologies including solar, storage, wind, hydrogen/fuel cells, microgrids, and electric vehicles.

It is impossible for RE+ Events to know exactly who and how many will attend your session, but we can generally provide more specific information during the planning preparation call.

It is encouraged you visit the specific event’s webpage and view the previous year’s Post-Show Report under “About” in the menu. You can find all events listed here

Our team will begin the process of scheduling one session planning call about one month prior to the event. This is when you’ll meet an RE+ Events Education team member, learn about event logistics, and discuss content with your moderator and/or other panelists and speakers. After this call, you’ll be put on an email thread with all other panelists so you all can share any session details and ask any questions to prepare for your session.

Additionally, it’s encouraged for panelists to try and meet on-site prior to the show to finalize any details.

Due to time constraints, RE+ Events Education team members will only coordinate and participate in one planning call per session. Panels are welcome to schedule a second planning call, should they choose, on their own.

If you have confirmed speaking at an event, and have not yet heard from our team regarding scheduling a planning call, please wait until 2 weeks prior to the event before inquiring about the call. It is likely our team is still firming up session details and will reach out when everything is finalized.

Our standard AV set-up includes an elevated stage, backdrop with event branding, screen/projector for display, lavalier microphone for each speaker, confidence monitor at the base of the stage, and a speaker timer. This may vary by event, depending on venue and room space. You can find this information detailed in emails you receive prior to the event.
